Euharlee Rolls Out Holiday Events Lineup

There are several events scheduled for December.

EUHARLEE, GA — The holiday season has arrived in Euharlee, and the city has five events on tap in December to celebrate the start of this festive time of year.

Euharlee's event proves organizers have something for everyone, from a middle school arts program to a Jeep show. Kicking off the month of December is the city and Euharlee Historical Society's Historic Tour of Euharlee.

The tour will feature five historic buildings decorated for Christmas from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1. Euharlee Presbyterian Church, Mittie Taylor-Nunley House, the Euharlee Masonic Lodge, Militia Courthouse, and Festival of Trees in the Granary are all on the tour.

Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 the day of the event. Tickets can be purchased at the Euharlee Welcome Center and History Museum or online. Proceeds of this event go to the Historical Society Scholarship Fund.

"We are excited to open our doors and welcome visitors to enjoy some of historic resources that are not always open to the public — an added bonus that it will be all decorated for the holidays," said Euharlee Welcome Center and History Museum Director Katie Gobbi.

Don't forget to the join the Euharlee Historical Society for its quarterly meeting, which begins at 10 a.m. Dec. 1. Mary Norton will discuss Alphabet Collins’s contribution to agriculture and Bartow County. The discussion is free and open to the public, and will be held at the Euharlee Welcome Center & History Museum at 33 Covered Bridge Road.

On Dec. 13, the Welcome Center and History Museum will open the Woodland Middle School at Euharlee Art Program for a fourth year. Opening day will feature with a reception and include work from all three grade levels, including the school’s honors art students.

"Each year, we have had such a great reaction to the show from the students, community, and museum visitors," Gobbi added. "Our local students are so talented, and this is an opportunity for their art to be shared with the community."

The public is welcome at the opening reception from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 13 at the Euharlee Welcome Center and History Museum. This temporary exhibit will run through mid-January.

“Our students have been hard at work and are excited to unveil their new projects,” said Woodland Middle School at Euharlee Art Teacher Abby Hennington.

Following the art show, the annual Covered Bridge Carols will feature performances by the Woodland Middle School chorus and band students near the official Euharlee Christmas tree. The concert will start at 6 p.m. Dec. 13, next in the field at 112 Covered Bridge Road. It is free and open to the public.

On Dec. 15, the Bartow Krawlers will host a Jeep show in Joe Cowan Park from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with proceeds benefiting Toys for Tots. Later in the evening, the city of Euharlee Special Events Committee will hold its Cookies & Carols at Euharlee Presbyterian Church from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. This is a free event, but attendees are asked to bring a dozen cookies to swap at the church, which is at 61 Covered Bridge Road.
