Fire At Cartersville Chemical Plant Sends Smoke Pouring Into Sky

A fire Wednesday at Chemical Products Corporation on Old Mill Road in Cartersville sent thick, black smoke into the sky.

Both the Cartersville and Bartow County Fire Departments were on the scene, according to a Facebook page that monitors county scanner traffic.

No injuries have been reported at this time stemming from the fire, said Bartow County EMS spokesperson Brad Cothran.

Cothran added Bartow County Emergency Medical Services have placed a truck at the command post on the scene to help care for firefighters fighting the blaze.

The agency has called in another crew to fill an ambulance “so there is no interruption of service to the community,” Cothran stated.
