Former School Board Member Gets Probation

Angela Gail Cornett was 41 years old and served as Bartow County Schools' District 3 rep and vice chairman when she struck a district student and was charged with reckless conduct.

The school board member accused of striking a student with her SUV in the Cartersville Walmart parking lot pleaded guilty today, according to Cherokee Judicial Circuit District Attorney Rosemary Greene.

Angela "Angie" Gail Cornett was 41 years old and served as Bartow County Schools' District 3 rep and vice chairman when she struck a district student and was charged with reckless conduct.

Cornett pleaded guilty to the reckless conduct charge and Superior Court Judge Scott Smith sentenced her to 12 months of probation on the conditions that she pay a $500 fine, complete 40 hours of community service, enter and complete the 16 hour Anger Management Program and have no contact with the victim or her family, according to the press release.
