Here are the top stories today in Cartersville:
- Cartersville restaurant, OEC Chinese Restaurant, made Doordash's list of Most-Loved All-Star Restaurants! This list recognized 100 restaurants for their exceptional service and high-quality food. This is a big accomplishment, as fewer than 1 percent of restaurants on the app were named, and all of the restaurants that made the list had to not only be one of the highest-rated on Doordash but they also had to have Most-Loved status for at least 10 months between April 2021 and April 2022. Congratulations OEC Chinese Restaurant! (Patch)
- In preparation for the high traffic congestion during the holiday weekend, the Georgia Department of Transportation has suspended lane closures on Georgia interstates and state routes until 10 p.m. on Tuesday, Jul. 5. Even though these closures will be suspended this weekend, the DOT still reminds travelers to be mindful and cautious while they drive, as emergency closures and incident management closures are never guaranteed to be suspended. Whether you are staying home or traveling far, stay safe this weekend in Cartersville! (WGRA News)
- The Supplies 4 Success Drive will take place on Jul. 30 and Jul. 31 at 7 different locations all over Bartow County! Going back to school can be a difficult transition, for both students and parents, so this event was created to alleviate some of that stress. Children will receive a backpack, school supplies, and other school essentials like a t-shirt and lunch. Register today! (Bartow County School System)
- There are still some standing room tickets left for the Fourth of July Atlanta Braves game against the St. Louis Cardinals! Not only is baseball a great way to celebrate the country's birthday, but there will be a firework show after the game! Get your tickets before they sell out and join the fun! (Ticketmaster)
- Mark your calendars! A family classic, Charlotte's Webb will be playing at the Historic Legion Theatre from Jul. 29 to Jul. 31! There will be four performances, two at night and two matinees. Bring the whole family for a fun night out to the theater! (Eventbrite)
