Man Robbed on His Front Porch, Hit in Head with Gun

Two women at the Montgomery Street home were told to go to the back of the house.

Two men with a gun tried to rob a Cartersville man on his Montgomery Street front porch and told two women at the home to go to the back of the house.

The 27-year-old man told Cartersville Police Department officers he was sitting on the porch Thursday about 10 p.m. when two African-American men approached, pointed a gun at him and demanded money, according to the incident report, above.

Two women in the home were told to go to the back of the house.

The male victim said he told the would-be robbers he didn't have any money, and they pushed him in the front door of the home, where one of the men hit him in the head with the gun.

The victim was bleeding from the head when police arrived, and said family members would take him to the hospital for treatment.

Police are investigating.
