Police Following Up On Leads in Murder of Grayson Teen - Loganville-Grayson Patch

Gwinnett County police worked overnight at the home of a Grayson teen who was shot to death Wednesday afternoon. Cpl. Jake Smith identified the victim as 14-year-old Paul Sampleton, a freshman at Grayson High School. Police said his father came home at about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday to find his son's body in their Grayson home on Haynescrest Drive and called police. The school was on early release for the last day of school. .

A former Cumming Elementary School PTO treasurer pleaded guilty Wednesday to stealing more than $30,000 from the parent teacher organization and was given a 15-year sentence to serve on probation.

Jamie Garfield, 37, entered a gulity plea to three counts of theft by taking, according to Forsyth Chief Assistant District Attorney Sandra Partridge.
