Price of Stamps Going Up at End of Month

The debut of the U.S. Postal Service's 46-cent Forever stamps brings rate changes on Jan. 27.

It's soon going to cost you an extra penny to mail a letter.

The U.S. Post Office recently announced that, effective Jan. 27, stamp prices will increase 1 cent to make way for the new 46-cent Forever stamp.

The price to mail a 1-ounce letter will increase from 45 cents to 46 cents, but the cost for letters weighing more than 1 ounce will stay the same, at 20 cents for each additional ounce.
