Shaw Closes Bartow Plants Temporarily To Clean For Coronavirus
Shaw Industries expects to reopen its Bartow County Facilities early next week after disinfecting for the coronavirus.
BARTOW COUNTY, GA —With four Shaw Industries employees testing positive for the coronavirus, the company announced Thursday that it has temporarily closed its Bartow County facilities. Plants 12, 13, 15, T1 and 94 are expected to reopen early next week.
The Daily Tribune News reports that all employees will be paid for their normal work schedules while the plants are closed for cleaning, according to Shaw chief human resources officer Mike Fromm.
A company statement said that “our associates’ health and well-being are our top priorities as we continually and carefully evaluate the operation of each of our facilities.” The statement also said that “any associates with direct contact with any confirmed or suspected cases are following quarantine guidelines.”
