- A two-year-old boy was found walking alone in Cartersville yesterday morning. The child was walking along Benefield Circle. The Bartow County Sheriff's Office has released a report that they have identified the parents. To see that report, go to the BCSO Facebook page. (11Alive.com WXIA)
- The Under Armour Association Final "Boys Rise Championship" is here in Cartersville! This boys' basketball event is being played at the Lake Points Center. - The Booth Western Art Museum in Cartersville is a sweet surprise, nestled in the North Georgia mountains. A visitor to the Booth Museum is welcomed by a larger-than-life bronze by Austin Barton. Distinguished and nationally known, its art collection is affiliated with the Smithsonian and embraces the wide-open atmosphere of the American West. The golf courses in the Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites offer great prices and casual relaxed settings. - Ever wanted to learn self defense? Every Friday in July, the Team Octopus Gym trainers will present a class in self-defense at the Cartersville Library. The class runs from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Attendees must be over 18 and will learn techniques that can be used as part of an exercise routine or in actual self-defense situations.
