Toyo Tire To Expand, Create 450 New Jobs
The company in Bartow County outside Cartersville plans to make 2.5 million more tires.

A big Bartow County manufacturer is expanding again, creating 450 new jobs just outside Cartersville.
The Friday announcement comes two years after Gov. Nathan Deal okayed an agreement between Toyo and the Bartow-Cartersville Joint Development Authority, which expand the county’s bonding capacity for Toyo by an additional $910 million. At that time, the company said it would add 470 new jobs in the coming few years.
Construction on its forth expansion, which will add about 470,000 feet to the U.S. 411 plant in White, is expected to begin in the fall, while hiring could start in August 2015, reports The Daily Tribune News.
Toyo officials say the $1.5 million expansion is needed to meet growing demand for tires in the North American market, according to a press release published on Hometown Headlines. Its Bartow facility, which the company plans to increase by 1.5 times, is Toyo's North American base for production of passenger vehicle and light truck tires.
Initially, Toyo plans to boost annual production capacity by 2.5 million tires.
