Woman Killed In Cartersville Crash Identified
The accident occurred Friday morning on Joe Frank Harris Parkway at South Bridge Drive.

CARTERSVILLE, GA — The Georgia State Patrol has identified the passenger who died Friday morning in a two-vehicle collision in Cartersville. June Butler, 78, of Adairsville passed away from injuries sustained in the Sept. 7 accident on U.S. 41/Joe Frank Harris Parkway.
Officers with the Cartersville Police Department asked state troopers to investigate the fatal crash around 10 a.m. on Joe Frank Harris Parkway at South Bridge Drive.
GSP states a black Honda Accord was traveling northbound on the highway in the left turn lane while a gold Ford Tempo was going southbound on the highway in the right lane.

A preliminary investigation shows the Honda failed to yield while making a left turn onto South Bridge Drive, causing the Ford to strike the Honda on the right side, the state agency said.

Butler died shortly after the collision, GSP added. Anthony Upton, 52, of Cartersville, the driver of the Ford, was transported to WellStar Kennestone Hospital with serious injuries.
Sharon Bryson, 52, the driver of the Honda, was transported to Cartersville Medical Center with minor injuries. The Georgia State Patrol's Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team is conducting a follow-up investigation, and charges are pending the results of that report.
