Woman Reports Prowler Tried To Enter Home

CARTERSVILLE, GA — A woman told reported to the Bartow County Sheriff's Office that an unknown person tried to enter her home earlier this week in Cartersville.

A deputy was dispatched to a residence around 3:15 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9 on Kitchens Mountain Road NW and met with the resident, who said she became alert when her dogs began barking outside.

Shortly after that, the woman said she "heard someone turning the doorknob to her back door," according to a sheriff's office incident report. She looked outside and saw a figure dressed in all black go into the wood line adjacent to her property, the report adds.

The deputy did not find any signs of anyone lurking on the property, and the resident said she did not know anyone who would want to unlawfully enter her home.

Extra patrol units were reserved for the area. No other details were made available.
