Arsonists or Drug Addicts nearly Burn Down an Entire Street in SW Atlanta
Over 8 homes have burned down on 1 street in Southwest Atlanta

Atlanta Fire Department continues to look for an arsonist that is wreaking havoc in a Southwest community.
Ashby Grove, near St. Jose Street in Southwest Atlanta has become a "hotbed" of arson activity in the last several months.Β Nearly 10 homes have burned down on the one street alone, leaving fire investigators to offer up a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
Ashby Grove sites 2 blocks behind Washington High School and was once part of a beautiful and vibrant neighborhood that was full of teachers and families and sat next to the AUC, but it has been hit hard by the economic downturn and housing bubble burst. Nearly all of the 8 homes burned were vacant, yet because of the close proximity to these houses there has been a report that 1 resident nearly lost their life when the vacant house next to them, went up in flames.

According to reporting done by DeMarco Morgan of NBC, residents firmly blame drug addicts for the fires. In the report one resident suggests that the best thing to do would be to bulldoze the vacant houses, saying that no one is going to buy the house in that much disrepair anyway.Β
I suggest that maybe Habitat for Humanity the homes, like they are doing on my street.Β This cleans up the neighborhood and puts a actual homeowner back in the community.
