The tweets from Cascade residents and others popped up the moment Pepsi Max's "Love Hurts" commercial ended:

From my point of view, it seems African-American women in southwest Atlanta and across the country have been dealing with the stereotype of the emasculating black woman with an attitude juxtaposed next to the friendly, fit, beautiful white woman for decades.

Some 60 years ago, it was the Sapphire character on Amos 'N Andy. Today, it seems things haven't changed.
But, there are other views about this, as seen on Twitter and YouTube. Some have said the commercial was more sexist than racist. Others have stressed that the violence against the white woman was unacceptable.
