Local "Big-Hat" Brunch to Bring Awareness to the Fight Against Cancer
Cancer gets a "Hat-titude" on Sunday afternoon.
Women from across the Patches will gather for brunch on Sunday, June 10th in their best hats, and suits to raise money in the fight against cancer.
WAOK's "Princess Monique" will host this year's event, which has quickly become one of the premier social and educational events in the city. The purpose is to highlight ALL cancers, not just breast cancer. It was born from the mind of Jerika Head, who lost her mother to cancer 2 years ago and felt there was so much about the disease that she did not know.
Jerika in now helping to educate a whole community about the disease.
