Columbus Council approves $3.3M housing development for South Columbus (wtvm.com) — Columbus City Council has approved a $3.3 million grant to turn a former mobile home park on Farr Road into 62 energy-efficient, affordable single-family homes in South Columbus. NeighborWorks of Columbus will lead the project, adding new streets, sidewalks, lighting, and utilities, with construction expected to start in about 18 months and finish within two years. 
2. Citizens raise concerns about ICE flights at Columbus Airport (wtvm.com) — Concerns over federal detainee flights using Columbus Airport are prompting questions from residents, even as airport leaders say no ICE aircraft have flown since the runway reopened in November. Officials confirm the airport has provided ground services for ICE flights in the past but say they don’t know if those flights will resume, while also outlining plans to attract more carriers and upgrade rental car facilities.

Columbus mayor defends city manager search timeline after council criticism (wtvm.com) — Columbus has gone eight months without a permanent city manager, and Mayor Skip Henderson is defending a slower hiring timeline after sharp criticism from a council member. He says negotiations with at least one finalist fell through, deputies are keeping operations steady, and the search will resume after the holidays with an eye on quality over speed.

5. Goodwill Southern Rivers raises $35,000 to help Veterans overcome PTSD (wrbl.com) — Goodwill Southern Rivers in Columbus has raised $35,000 to support a free golf-based program that helps local veterans cope with PTSD and depression. Led in part by the city’s director of golf and the Columbus PGA HOPE program, the effort offers veterans community, conversation, and recovery time on the course at no cost.
