- Four former employees of Mohawk Industries, Inc., including Sivakumar Thiyagasamadram, 54, of Cumming, have been indicted for allegedly defrauding the company. They are accused of secretly organizing and controlling a Georgia company called Meta Technology Platforms, LLC, and using their positions at Mohawk to retain Meta Tech as a vendor and divert Mohawk's outsourced IT consulting work to Meta Tech. The fraudulent scheme involved submitting invoices to Mohawk for approximately $3,034,411, which did not disclose the defendants' relationship to Meta Tech. The defendants had their initial appearances on Sep. 21. The case is being investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. (Coosa Valley News)
