Decatur City Schools Closed Due To Water Main Break

A water main break impacting two high schools in Decatur prompted the closure of all schools district-wide.

DECATUR, GA — A water main break has led to the temporary closure of all Decatur City schools, officials said Monday.

The City Schools of Decatur said this includes College Heights and Frasier Center. The closure is due to a water main break impacting Decatur and Avondale high schools and causing low pressure at schools district-wide, officials said.

Families were asked to immediately pick up their students.

Water may run brown for some residents, officials said, advising that faucets inside and outside run to clear the internal plumbing. Water pressure was fully restored, officials said.
