DeKalb Animal Shelter Can't Accept Any Animals: Report

The Dekalb County Animal Shelter has been ordered by the state to stop accepting animals because they're at capacity, according to a report.

DEKALB COUNTY, GA — When the DeKalb Animal Shelter reached maximum capacity, the state stepped in, reported WAGA-TV.

There haven’t been enough kennels for additional dogs at Lifeline Animal Project. When they exceeded the maximum by almost 100, the staff began using temporary housing crates, reported the news station. That’s when the Georgia Department of Agriculture did a stop intake order.

Until the order is lifted, all the Community Support Team can do is offer information and resources, but can not take any animals, reported WAGA-TV.
