DeKalb School Teacher Charged With Child Molestation

Devin Lecorry Johnson is a teacher at Tucker Middle School. He is accused of molesting a boy inside a Perimeter Mall restroom.

DECATUR, GA — A DeKalb County school teacher has been charged in connection with an alleged case of child molestation. According to Dunwoody police, Devin Lecorry Johnson, 28, of Mableton, Georgia, was arrested Tuesday and charged one count each of child molestation, enticing a child and obstruction of officers. Johnson is a teacher at Tucker Middle School, and DeKalb school officials said he has been placed on administrative leave.

The charges come after Dunwoody police released surveillance footage of an August 4 incident, in which the victim, a 13-year-old boy, was washing his hands in a mall restroom when a man standing next to him began asking inappropriate questions. The suspect then allegedly lured the victim into a bathroom stall and reached for the boy's pants.

The victim escaped and ran to his parents, who were waiting outside. The victim's father attempted to chase the suspect, who escaped.
