Man Barricades Self In Home During DeKalb SWAT Standoff (patch.com) — A man was taken into custody after DeKalb police and a SWAT team responded to a warrant service at a home on Monitor Court in Decatur, where he had barricaded himself with a rifle. Negotiators couldn’t reach him by phone, but officers ultimately entered, arrested him without any reported injuries, and booked him into DeKalb County Jail while charges are still pending.
   

3. MARTA preps for massive ridership during FIFA World Cup (axios.com) — Decatur is set to host a 34-day soccer festival as part of metro Atlanta’s preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, bringing sustained crowds and activity to the area. MARTA is boosting train service, rerouting buses, and adding multilingual signage and volunteers to move fans between Decatur, downtown Atlanta, and major World Cup venues throughout June.

Metro Atlanta men accused in Ohio burglary at Browns QB Shedeur Sanders' home; fourth suspect still at large (11alive.com) — A man from Decatur is among three metro Atlanta suspects arrested after authorities linked them to a high-value burglary at NFL quarterback Shedeur Sanders’ Ohio home and another break-in in Brookhaven. Investigators say the group targeted wealthy individuals, stole luxury items, and may be tied to additional athlete burglaries, with one suspect still at large and three facing extradition to Ohio.
   

5.
