Stone Mountain Man Arrested In Slaying During Drug Deal: Authorities
A Stone Mountain man has been arrested in a drug deal that turned deadly in DeKalb.

DECATUR, GA -- A Stone Mountain man was arrested in connection to a fatal shooting during an alleged drug deal, DeKalb County law enforcement said Tuesday. Ira Herbert Baxter, 25, was apprehended by the DeKalb Sheriff’s Fugitive Unit one day after warrants were issued, charging him with murder and three counts of aggravated assault.
Baxter is accused of opening fire on a vehicle occupied by four people after discovering that he was paid with counterfeit money during a drug transaction, DeKalb Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Cynthia Baugh Williams said. Baxter was taken into custody without incident at an apartment complex near the crime scene, Williams said.
