These Roads Are Closed In DeKalb: Hurricane Irma

DeKalb County awoke Tuesday to downed power lines and closed roads due to the effects of Hurricane Irma. Here are the road closures.

DECATUR, GA -- Efforts are underway Tuesday in DeKalb County to restore power to thousands of residents still without electricity after the remnants of Hurricane Irma thrashed metro Atlanta. The inclement weather that passed through the area Monday has increased the risks of falling trees and strong wind gusts one day after the storm grew deadly in Georgia -- taking three lives. Metro Atlanta will continue to feel the effects of the fast-moving storm until the sunshine returns Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.

Much of DeKalb will get a respite from heavy rain for much of Tuesday, but it will return in the afternoon as the effects of Irma continue to move north, according to the National Weather Service.
