Transgender Worker Sues Metro Atlanta Chick-Fil-A Over Homophobic Slurs, Firing
A transgender employee is suing a Decatur Chick-fil-A after claiming she was fired over her gender identity.

DECATUR, GA — A transgender woman has filed a lawsuit claiming a Decatur Chick-fil-A fired her over her gender identity, WAGA-TV reported.
According to the lawsuit obtained by WAGA-TV, Aaron White said on her first day of training in 2021, to be director of operations at the Chick-fil-A franchise, an employee harassed her by making sexual comments. White reported the incident and told the franchise owner, Joe Engert, that she was transgender, Nation's Restaurant News reported.
“The Franchise Owner responded by saying that it should be an honor that with Plaintiff being a transgender woman that someone liked her enough to hit on her,” according to the suit, the outlet reported.

After that, White claims she was harassed by other employees and misgendered.
The suit alleges that the defendant did not take “reasonable steps to correct the situation or prevent the harassment from recurring after being notified by Plaintiff on numerous occasions.”

The owner eventually fired White, claiming she was late to work and abruptly walked off during her shift, WAGA-TV reported.
