Baseball Season Ends Early

The only Douglasville Patch high school to make the Georgia High School Association AAAA baseball playoffs saw its season end Saturday when lost the finale of a best-of-three series at , 5-2.
The Cougars, the , won the first game in Hickory Flat, 10-6, but lost Friday's nightcap, 12-6, for a Saturday.
In other sports action from the weekend, finished 15th in the GHSA AAAA boys track and field championships in Jefferson on the strength of the performance of one athlete, senior distance runner Wade Voyles.

Voyles wrapped up his high school career by scoring all 11 points for Chapel Hill. He finished fourth in the 1,600 meters at 4:19.3 and third in the 3,200 meters in 9:33.46.
