Child Abuse Charges Leveled Against EMT And Douglas County Mother
A report of possible abuse of a 2-year-old led Douglas County sheriff's investigators to arrest a metro-area EMT and the mother.

DOUGLASVILLE, GA — The mother of a 2-year-old living in Douglas County and an Atlanta-area EMT were arrested Monday and charged with more than 20 counts of child abuse, authorities said.
Cristian Anthony Stern of Marietta and Logan Bailey Steele of Dallas were arrested following a “nearly two-week intensive investigation,” according to a statement from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. A report of possible abuse by a concerned citizen led to the investigation, the office said.
“The investigation, still underway, exposed the conduct of Stern, who is a Georgia EMT and active in the Georgia National Guard,” the sheriff’s statement said. “As an EMT, Stern has worked on several metro Atlanta ambulance services.”
