- Starting tomorrow, Douglasville City Hall will be closed through Aug. 19. The closure is due to final steps in necessary roofing repairs. City Hall is expected to reopen on Monday, Aug. 22. (Press Release Desk)
- MaxPreps released its Georgia high school football rankings as the state is about a week away from the start of the season. South Paulding High School in Douglasville is ranked No. 29 with its 2021 season record of 8-3. (MaxPreps)
- The Douglas County School System has named the 2022-2023 Teacher of the Year semifinalists. Elementary school semifinalists are Karen Gorzynski and Tammy Odom, middle school semifinalists are Nancy Cannon and Bryant Hand, and high school semifinalists are LaShawna Bryant and Stan Jordan.
