On Saturday, Aug. 20, the Douglasville Police Department will be hosting a Community Job Fair from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Fair organizers are currently accepting applications from any businesses in Douglasville and Douglas County that are hiring for full-time, part-time, or temporary positions. The Douglas County School System is hosting Parent Technology Training events throughout the month of August for elementary, middle, and high school parents. All trainings will be held via Zoom. The Douglasville Police Department is seeking the public's help identifying two individuals accused of allegedly shoplifting from the H&M at Arbor Place Mall on Jul. 19.   4. A Fairburn police sergeant was killed and two more were injured after a major crash on a Douglas County road Thursday morning. The four-vehicle crash occurred on Capps Ferry Road just before 8:00 a.m. yesterday, resulting in the death of 54-year-old Officer Jean-Harold Louis Astree. The other injured victims were taken to local hospitals and are expected to make full recoveries. (WSB-TV 2 Atlanta)
  5. Douglas County Health Officials provided a Public Health Update during Douglas County Chairman Romona Jackson Jones's recent virtual town hall. During the presentation, officials noted that the county is back in a state of high COVID-19 transmission and encouraged residents to wear a mask indoors in public places and stay up to date with vaccines.
