Douglas Deputy Injured After Car Fails To Move Over On I-20, GSP Says
A driver sideswiped a deputy's patrol car before rear-ending the trooper's vehicle during an investigation on I-20 west, authorities say.
DOUGLAS COUNTY, GA β A Douglas County deputy was injured after a car sideswiped their patrol vehicle and rear-ended a Georgia trooper's vehicle during an investigation Sunday on I-20 west to Northside Parkway ramp, authorities say.
The crash happened around 4:45 a.m., the Georgia State Patrol said Monday.
A trooper was called to assist the Douglas County Sheriff's Office after deputies used a PIT maneuver to end a chase, authorities said. They did not say what initiated the chase.

During the investigation, the GSP said a 2015 Kia Forte did not move over or slow down for the emergency lights.
The Kia then sideswiped a deputy's SUV before rear-ending the trooper's vehicle, authorities said.

The trooper and the deputy were both in their vehicles at the time of the crash, authorities said.
The deputy was injured and taken to Douglas Wellstar Hospital, authorities said. They added while the trooper "complained of discomfort," the trooper declined medical treatment.
It is unknown if anyone is facing charges in connection with the crash.
