  1. The Douglas County District Attorney's Office announced that 47-year-old Dedrick Murray has been convicted of kidnapping with bodily injury, aggravated assault, terroristic acts with serious physical injury, and stalking. In 2019, Murray attempted to kill his then-girlfriend, who was able to escape and drive to the Publix parking lot located at the intersection of Anneewakee Road and Chapel Hill Road in Douglasville.   2. The Douglas County Commissioners recently voted to celebrate Operation Green Light (OGL), a national campaign to honor veterans and connect them to benefits and services, from Nov. 1 through Nov. 11. On Monday, Nov. 7, county officials are asking residents to wear green for the official Operation Green Light Ceremony at 5:30 p.m. outside of the Douglas County courthouse. Residents are also encouraged to shine a green light in their window or keep a green light on their porch every evening to "shine a green light on service members." View the link for details.   3. The City of Douglasville invites residents to a Topping Out Celebration to mark a key milestone in the construction of the GreyStone Amphitheater. The celebration will take place at the Town Green from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 7. Afterwards there will be light refreshments at the Douglasville Conference Center. Attendees are asked to wear closed-toe shoes and RSVP to rosados@douglasvillega.gov. (City of Douglasville via Twitter)
  4. Piaggio MotoPlex recently held a grand opening of the MotoPlex Atlanta, located at 6401 Spring Street in Douglasville.
