Douglas County Sells Old Jail To City For $850,000
The old Douglas County Jail has been a popular location for the Douglas County Tourism and Film Office to work with the film industry.
DOUGLASVILLE, GA – Douglas County Commission Chairman Dr. Romona Jackson Jones and Douglasville Mayor Rochelle Robinson gathered on Monday, July 30, at the Douglas County Courthouse for a closing ceremony where Douglas County sold the Old Jail property located at 6840 Church Street in downtown Douglasville to the city of Douglasville for $850,000.
“We are delighted at the opportunity to help assist the city at redeveloping this corridor to help boost economic development that would benefit the city and the county,” Chairman Jones said.
The old Douglas County Jail has been a popular location for the Douglas County Tourism and Film Office to work with the film industry on productions of shows and movies such as All Eyez on Me, and MacGyver among many others.
