Patch and T-Mobile are partnering to shine a light on awesome moms in the Douglasville area. Meet Marcia Williams!

DOUGLASVILLE, GA— Moms do so much for everyone around them. We try to celebrate them all year long, but Mother's Day is a perfect opportunity to shout it from the rooftops and post it on Patch: Mom rocks!
Here at Patch we've launched an initiative to help recognize the awesome moms and mom figures in communities like yours.
This submission comes from Malencia Price who nominated Marcia Williams of Douglasville.
What makes your Mom extra special?
My mother has been the standard of a great role model, an educated woman with her masters that continues to beat the odds ... and still makes a way for my little sisters and me ... She pushes me to be greater and to embrace myself [in ways] such as being involved with the youth department of the NAACP back in our hometown, Beautification Days and Camp Girl Power for young teens growing up and needing additional support ... My mom tries to make sure I’m involved and gives me that push. My mother is so beautiful with a beautiful heart and helps so many through her path. She’s the best mother a girl could have. I love you, Mom.
Why do you feel your Mom deserves the spotlight?
I feel like my mom deserves the spotlight because she shows so much compassion, kindness and is very loving with everything that crosses her path. Now don’t get me wrong — she’s direct and plays no games when it comes to kids — but she’s a woman that will not think twice on giving her last to make someone else smile. That’s why she is deserving of the spotlight.
Happy Mother's Day to Marcia Williams, and thank you for all you do!
