  1. Douglasville police officers discovered human remains on Saturday, Oct. 22, between Arbor Station and Douglas Boulevard. The remains were in the area that missing 17-year-old Yaron Kathuri, of Douglasville, was last seen. Police will not be releasing anymore information until there is a positive identification and cause of death. The teen's father told FOX 5 Atlanta that he believes it is his son. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
  2. The Douglas County Board of Commissioners unanimously voted to proclaim Nov. 1 through Nov. 11 Operation Green Light for Veterans in Douglas County. Chairwoman Dr. Romona Jackson Jones said, "During this week, I hope all our citizens will take the time to honor the service of the men and women who have paid the unmeasurable price to protect our freedoms in this nation." Operation Green Light will be incorporated into the 22nd Annual Veterans Day Parade on Nov. 11. (Press Release Desk)
  3. The Douglas County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously to designate October as Behavioral Health Month. The Board of Commissioners will work with other local agencies to promote the availability of appropriate and accessible services and raise awareness on behavioral health. (Press Release Desk)
  4. Douglasville Parks and Recreation is hosting a safe, family-friendly way to celebrate Halloween. Come to Crafts-N-Treats on Oct. 31 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Owings and Hawthorne Community Centers in Douglasville.
