Douglasville Student Earns Eagle Scout Rank
Chapel Hill High School student Luke Alexander Meador had to earn 32 merit badges before receiving the Eagle Scout rank.

DOUGLASVILLE, GA — A student at Chapel Hill High School and Boy Scout member of Troop 626 of the Atlanta Area Council in Douglasvillehas earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Luke Alexander Meador was presented with the Boy Scouts' highest rank June 11 by Douglas County Commission Chairman Romona Jackson Jones, Douglas County Board of Commissioners (DCBC) said in a news release.
Meador had to earn 32 merit badges, serve his troop as senior Patrol leader twice, and serve in several other leadership roles in order to become an Eagle Scout, DCBC said.
“On behalf of the Board of Commissioners, we would like to congratulate Luke Meador on his accomplishments thus far,” Jones said. “We are excited to see the next challenge he decides to overcome in the future.”

Meador's Eagle Scout service project consisted of organizing the building of four benches and four tables in an interior courtyard. These improvements have helped the school use the courtyard during their academic activities and lessons, DCBC added.
Meador is a sophomore taking advanced placement classes.
