Educator To Share Ghana Learning Experiences With Public
Douglas County Board of Education Vice Chair Michelle Simmons will report on her experiences in Ghana this summer.

DOUGLAS COUNTY, GA — Douglas County Board of Education Vice Chair Michelle Simmons will report on her experiences in Ghana this summer as part of the Fulbright-Hayes Group Projects Abroad program. The public is invited to take part in this exciting interactive presentation Nov. 10 at the Lithia Springs Library from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
One of the main objectives of Simmons’ Ghana trip was to establish a collaborative resource for American and Ghanaian educators. The American Institute for Resource and Human Development coordinates an annual trip for educators to study abroad.
The Fulbright-Hayes Grant, the American Institute for Resource and Human Development and the United States Department of Education will be sponsoring another opportunity for teachers to study in Tanzania, East Africa, June 13-July 18, 2019. The purpose of this five week Tanzania project is to enable participants to develop curriculum materials for use in their respective classrooms.
