  1. 24-year-old Allahnia Lenoir of Douglasville disappeared from a Midtown Atlanta apartment a week ago, reportedly under suspicious circumstances. Allahnia's father, Abraham, said, "Please allow us to see our daughter again...allow us to know the outcome of her well being." Anyone with information is urged to call 911 or the Atlanta Police Homicide/Adult Missing Persons Unit at 404-546-4235. (CBS 46 News)
  2. A Douglasville felon was sentenced to more than 18 months in federal prison in connection to a mother-son multi-state fraud scheme involving identity theft, stolen vehicles, and a firearm. Quinae Shamyra Stephens' attempts to assert a sovereign citizen defense were rejected by the court, and they acknowledged it was a “frivolous defense.” Stephens' son was previously sentenced to time served after he pled guilty to conspiracy to commit wire and bank fraud. (Fox News)
  3. Jamarion Wilcox of Douglasville participated in FSU's Seminole Showcase Elite Camp, and the three-star running back is being eyed by head coach Mike Norvell and staff. Wilcox believes he has a skill set that will benefit Norvell's spread offense and he praised the coaching staff's personality. He is the No. 42 running back in the class of 2023 by Rivals and was rated as the 73rd best overall prospect from Georgia. (The Osceola)
  4. Fuel prices are driving up the busing costs in Douglas County and across Georgia, but a U.S. EPA program is attempting to provide alternative methods to reduce them. The program is looking at bus electrification rather than using gasoline or diesel fuel. For the next five years, the EPA will give $1 billion each year to school districts that wish to purchase electric, propane, or compressed natural gas vehicles. (Gwinnettdailypost.com)
  5. Last Thursday, the state Senate began discussing ways to reduce homelessness and aid homeless Georgians. Recent data showed about 3,880 unsheltered homeless people in the state, the current population focus of the Senate.
