Keep Douglasville Beautiful Calls On Community To Name New Mascot
Thanks to Ylvis's 2013 viral sensation, we know what the fox says. But, what is its name?
DOUGLASVILLE, GA β Foxes are known to be mischievous, but Keep Douglasville Beautiful's new mascot only wants one thing: a name.
That's right β the organization, dedicated to environmental stewardship, has a new mascot, an as-of-yet unnamed fox dressed in the city's colors. But it can't get to work beautifying the city until it has an identity of its own.
That's why the organization is calling on community members to submit name suggestions, which will be reviewed by a committee and voted on by the community.

Here's how it works: First, residents go online to submit a suggested name. Suggestions will be accepted through the end of the day on Feb. 14. There's no limit to how many names each person can suggest.
Once submissions close, a review committee will gather to choose top submissions. Those names will then be shared on the Keep Douglasville Beautiful Facebook page.

The community will then have over a week β From Feb. 17 to Feb. 25 β to vote on their favorites. The winner will be rewarded with a swag bag from Keep Douglasville Beautiful.
According to its Facebook page, Keep Douglasville Beautiful aims to "practice, promote, and encourage environmental stewardship through public education and community-based projects, within the City of Douglasville."
The KDB board is made up of eight individuals appointed by the mayor and city council. Board members serve two-year terms and meet on the third Tuesday of each month.
