  1. Douglasville's Ryan Wynn was announced as part of Wofford's baseball squad for next fall. In 2021, while playing for Chapel Hill High School, Wynn hit .360 to score a second-team all-region selection. Wynn, a superintendent's scholar in 2019, participated in both the Braves 44 Classic game and the Minority Baseball Prospects All-American game this year. (WSPA 7News)
  2. Douglasville homeowner Asmirh Davis shared with Channel 2 investigative reporting that she feels her home was undervalued due to her race. After getting her home appraised for a second time – while having her white neighbor stand in as her in the home where she removed family photos and a Mohammad Ali poster – it was valued at $138,000 more than her June appraisal. Davis said, "So almost a 30% increase from the one that we had gotten only a few weeks prior." (WSB Atlanta)
  3. The Douglasville Convention & Visitors Bureau received renewal of its Bronze status – for another three years – as a Benchmark of Excellence (BEC). Available at levels Bronze, Silver, and Gold, the BEC program focuses on providing a continuous road map for creating and maintaing a standard of excellence. (Press Release Desk)
  4. Sergeant Shannon Dean held a class at the S.H.A.R.E. House Teen Center on Nov. 10 focusing on human trafficking. Coordinated with S.H.A.R.E. House Youth Coordinator Missy Little, District Attorney Dalia Racine, DC Program Director To’nia Washington, and Statewide Care Coordinator Kathleen Kennedy, the class covered all facets of human trafficking. Teens were educated on what to look for and how to be aware of human trafficking, in addition to how the representing agencies that were present can help.   5. Douglasville is getting the next installment of All That Frosting Cakery's cupcake vending machine. The dispensed treats are custom-baked and prepared from scratch.
