- On Jul. 13, Douglas County Correctional Officer Leigh Lewis was arrested for allegedly violating her oath and sexually assaulting a prisoner. Investigators said Lewis admitted to kissing and having sexual relations with an inmate during her interview. (WSB Atlanta)
- Arbor Place Mall in Douglasville will have a CBD vending machine installed by Green Box Robotics, a manufacturer of a CBD vending machines. Green Box Robotics partnered with Genesis Boutique & CBD, a provider of CBD products, to install a CBD vending machine in Arbor Place Mall. (Kiosk Marketplace)
- The Joint Commission and American Heart Association recently certified Wellstar Douglas Hospital as a primary heart attack center. The Douglasville hospital provides 24-hour coverage for heart attack patients. Joshua Willis, MD, medical director of the cardiac catheterization lab at Wellstar Douglas, said the "cardiac program is designed to help people having heart attacks receive the fastest, most evidence-based care."
