Man Pleads Guilty To Child Molestation, Earns 45 Years In Prison: DA

"Child sexual abuse material" downloaded to a phone led to guilty pleas and jail time for a Douglas County Man, according to authorities.

DOUGLASVILLE, GA — A Douglas County man has been sentenced to 45 years behind bars after pleading guilty to multiple child molestation charges, according to a statement Wednesday from the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office.

Michael Tuley entered guilty pleas on April 11 to sexual battery, sexual exploitation and child molestation charges and was sentenced by Judge Cynthia Adams, the statement said.

In September 2019, the sheriff’s office received a report that Tuley had “inappropriately touched” a juvenile in the garage of a Douglas County home. According to the district attorney’s statement, Tuley also took explicit photos of the juvenile on a cell phone. Investigators said they later learned that Tuley “touched the victim inappropriately in front of another juvenile.”

Tuley had already entered guilty pleas to some of the counts on March 21. He entered guilty pleas to the rest of them on April 11.

“The victims of child sexual abuse material, no matter how much time has passed, continue to be victimized every time an individual views the images of them being sexually assaulted,” said District Attorney Dalia Racine. “It is not a victimless crime and deserves to be recognized for the reality of the continuous devastation that occurs to those victimized in this manner. We believe that the sentence handed down does just that.”
