Mayor Limits Restaurants, Closes Parks, Bars, Gyms: Coronavirus
An order by Douglasville's mayor to close parks, bars and gyms, and limit restaurants, should slow the spread of the coronavirus.
DOUGLASVILLE, GA — The City of Douglasville has closed its parks, bars, gyms and private social clubs until April 10 to slow the spread of the new coronavirus. Gatherings of 10 or more people also are prohibited to help enforce social distancing, and dining options are limited to take-out, drive-through or delivery.
Mayor Rochelle Robinson issued the executive order Monday afternoon after consulting with county, state and federal officials.
Takeout alcoholic beverages also will be allowed, with some restrictions. Restaurants already licensed to serve alcohol will be allowed to sell beer or wine in unopened sealed containers with takeout orders. This supersedes existing county and state alcohol ordinances for the duration of the order. The order does not apply to delivery orders.
