In Memory: Betty Jean Castor, 81, of Douglasville

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, Sept. 9, at 2 p.m. at Hightower's Memorial Chapel.

Betty Jean Castor, age 81, of Douglasville, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2015. She was born in Atlanta, GA., on August 22, 1934 to the late Dewey Hiram Samples and the late Mamie Lou Brownlee. She was a homemaker and was Baptist by faith.

In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Harold Dwight Castor; brothers, Dewey Samples, Ernest Samples; and sister, Lue Smith.\

Survivors are her children and their spouses: Jerry and Pam Castor of Etowah, Arkansas, Deborah and Larry Wilson, Diana and Bart Blore, Terry Lance Castor, all of Douglasville; grandchildren: Hope and Wes Carnes, Brian Blore, Adam Post, Brooke Castor, Emily and Bryce Sparling, T.J. Castor, Anna Blore, and Maddy Castor; great grandchildren: Braelynn Carnes, Brantley Carnes, Kaleah Lewis, Braxton Sparling, Greyson Sparling; a number of nieces and nephews, and their beloved dog, Tiny.

A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at 2:00 PM from Hightower’s Memorial Chapel with Dr. Billy Godwin officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Brian Blore, Adam Post, T.J. Castor, Wes Carnes, Bryce Sparling and Timothy Stephansen will serve as Pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 from 5:00 until 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
