- The Douglasville Police Department is seeking the public's help locating a local woman who went missing earlier this month. 42-year-old Briana Geneva Trice has brown hair and eyes and was last seen on Aug. 6 wearing a white and maroon shirt. Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to contact Sergeant Underwood at underwom@douglasvillega.gov or by calling 678-293-1789. (Douglasville Police Department via Facebook)
- This Saturday, Aug. 20, Douglas County Animal Services will host a pet vaccination event from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The event will be held at the shelter's headquarters at 2171 Mack Road in Douglasville, and pre-registration is not required. DAPP vaccines for dogs, FVRCCP vaccines for cats, and microchips for all pets will be free. (Douglas County Happenings via Facebook)
- The first showing of the Douglas County Parks & Recreation 2022 Fall Movie Series will take place on Aug. 27 at Boundary Waters Aquatic Center. The Aqua Fest activities will begin at 1:00 p.m. with water slides, food trucks, contests, and more. The screening of "The Sea Beast" will begin at 6:00 p.m. All activities are free to attend. - The Douglas County Transfer Station will be closed for repairs next Wednesday, Aug. 24, with plans to reopen on Monday, Aug. 29. The station will not accept any commercial refuse loads during the closure but will accept small residential bagged garbage on Saturday. The City of Douglasville is hosting a series of Medicare 101 workshops at the Ike Owings Community Center at Hunter Park, with the next session happening Thursday, Aug. 25.
