1. On Sep. 1, a new program will launch called S.T.A.N.D. (Students Taking Action for a Non-Violent Douglas). The Douglas County Sheriff's Office, Douglas County Juvenile Court, and Juvenile Programs Administration Department collaborated to create the program, which is designed for Douglas County kids ages 9 to 11. The free program "empowers youth to be leaders in their respective schools by demonstrating kindness and being courageous in the face of peer pressure to join gangs or commit violent criminal offenses." 2. Stranger Things was partially filmed in Douglasville. The Hawkins police station was filmed at 45 Pray Street in Douglasville. (Radio Times)
3. On Aug. 10 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., there will be a WorkSource Georgia – Atlanta Regional hiring event. Located at 4655 Timber Ridge Drive in Douglasville. (South Atlanta Moms Events)
4. Yesterday, Aug. 2, Western Carolina University head track & field coach Jesse Norman announced the addition of 12 new student-athletes for the 2022-23 school year. Sydney Lowe, of Alexander HS in Douglasville is one of the new student-athletes joining the Catamount Women's Track team. (Catamount Sports)
5. According to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, Zachariah Keith of Douglas County is number 60 in the "100 Top Georgia High School Football Players Class of 2023." Keith is headed to Georgia Tech. (HSFA)

• On Aug. 2, Douglas County Sheriff's Office announced a BOLO update that Venetta Wilson was located. She had been missing since Jul. 28. (Facebook)
• Douglas County Sheriff's Office announced a BOLO for a female who allegedly committed larceny. The Sheriff's office posted a picture of the female on Facebook. The larceny took place at Jolly Wally's service station on Sunday, Jun. 19. According to the report, the subject is a black female with discoloration on her hands. Please contact Investigator M.
