- The Douglasville Police Department is hosting a community job fair on Aug. 20. The job fair will run from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. and participating companies are hiring for full-time, part-time, and temporary positions. ( The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
- Members of the Douglasville Police Department presented at the Georgia Gang Investigators Association Summer Conference in Savannah yesterday. - Winston Elementary School, in Douglas County, has a new principal this year. Heather George was previously the principal at Dorsett Shoals Elementary School in Douglasville. - Douglas County Fire/EMS Department member Laurie North has received the "Hero Behind the Hero" Scholarship from Waldorf University. The scholarship was awarded to Laurie to recognize her role as a public safety family member to honor her father. The scholarship is worth 60 credits hours towards an online program.
