  1. The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating a domestic shooting that resulted in a victim crashing his car into another vehicle just outside of Douglasville, in Lithia Springs. It is believed that the victim was on his way to get treatment for his injuries from the shooting when he lost control and struck a mother and child who were in the other vehicle. The suspect, who was a family member of the victim, is in custody and police are currently determining the cause of the incident. (Fox 5 Atlanta)
  2. Not all emergencies require the same course of action. This is why the Douglasville Police Department is reminding residents that 988, a new lifeline for mental health and suicide, is available to give residents proper resources in a crisis. By calling the number, people will be connected with professionals trained specifically to help in a mental health crisis and provide help in a tumultuous situation.
