  1. Richard Ewoodzie, from Douglasville, has been accepted into the internal medicine residency program at Archbold Memorial in Thomasville, Georgia. The five new physicians entering the program were announced yesterday. Dr. Raul Santos, associate residency program director, said the program will focus on training and retaining new primary care physicians who will practice locally. (Times-Enterprise)
  2. The highly anticipated GreyStone Amphitheater at the Douglasville Town Green has revealed its impressive lineup for the grand opening series, featuring renowned artists Gladys Knight, Boney James, and LeAnn Rimes performing on Sep. 2, 9, and 16, respectively. Knight, known as the Empress of Soul, will showcase her timeless hits and remarkable vocal talent, while James will captivate the crowd with his smooth jazz sounds, blending R&B, soul, and jazz in a mesmerizing performance. The series will conclude with Rimes, a country music superstar, delivering a night of heartfelt and soulful country melodies, making for an unforgettable musical experience. (Douglasville, Georgia)
  3. Douglasville invites you to their popular Wednesday Wind Down Concert Series, taking place every Wednesday night until Jul. 26 at O'Neal Plaza. The upcoming concert on Jul. 19 will feature JCRU Band as the opening act, followed by the High Definition Band as the main performance. The concerts are free, and attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs while tables, tarps, and plastic ground coverings are not permitted. (Douglasville, Georgia)
  4. Don't forget to catch the Mandala Market Days Holiday Festival!   5. Mark your calendars for the Night of the Blue Lights Car Show, happening on Saturday, Aug. 12, from 5:00-9:00 p.m. at the Douglas County Courthouse. This event promises a display of law enforcement vehicles, show cars, and a chance for fellowship. Law enforcement vehicle entries are free of cost, while private vehicle entries require a $25 fee, with proceeds benefiting the Boys and Girls Club of Douglas County.
