What's Open, Closed Christmas Week 2020 In Douglasville

Check for Douglasville and Douglas County services and offices that are closing early this week for Christmas.

DOUGLASVILLE, GA β€” Christmas may be different for those who avoid larger gatherings to avoid the spread of COVID-19. What hasn't changed: Many services in Douglasville and Douglas County are closed for the holiday.

While Christmas is a federal holiday, some services may start their closures on Christmas Eve. Here are the openings and closings to know on and around Thursday, Dec. 24 (Christmas Eve) and Friday, Dec. 25 (Christmas).

  • All Douglas County offices closed at noon Thursday and will remain closed Friday. City of Douglasville offices are closed both Thursday and Friday.
  • All branches of the West Georgia Regional Library System including the Douglas County Public Library are closed Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
  • Connect Douglas will operate on a Saturday schedule throughout the holidays, with service from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday and no service on Friday. The Multi-Modal Transportation Center on Dorris Road will be closed both Thursday and Friday.
  • Students in the Douglas County School System are on break through Jan. 5. Students return on Wednesday, Jan. 6.
  • All Douglas County advance voting sites will be closed Thursday and Friday. The sites will reopen on Monday, Dec. 28, and remain open daily through 2 p.m. on Dec. 31.
  • All offices of Cobb & Douglas Public Health will be closed Thursday and Friday. Regular hours will resume on Monday, Dec. 28.
  • Christmas a federal holiday, and all U.S. Postal Service post offices will be closed. No mail will be delivered or sent. Regular business hours will resume on Saturday, Dec. 26.
  • Publix: All stores open at regular hours and close at 7 p.m. on Christmas Eve. All stores and pharmacies will be closed on Christmas Day.
  • Kroger: All stores and pharmacies will close at 7 p.m. on Christmas Eve and remain closed on Christmas Day.
