DOUGLASVILLE, GA — Good Friday is April 15 this year, followed by Easter on Sunday. Some places will be closed in Douglas County to honor Good Friday.

Good Friday is the Friday before Easter, and the day Christians annually observe the commemoration of the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

  • The Douglas County Courthouse and county offices will be closed Friday.
  • Douglasville city offices will remain open on Friday.
  • Douglasville trash pickup will continue as usual on Friday.
  • The Douglas County landfill on Humane Society Boulevard will be open Friday but closed on Saturday in honor of the Easter holiday.
  • The Lithia Springs Senior Center will be closed Friday.
  • City offices in Villa Rica will be closed Friday.
  • Villa Rica trash routes by GFL Environmental will run as usual, except for city curbside pickup — pickup scheduled for Friday moves to Monday, and pickup scheduled for Monday moves to Tuesday.
  • All locations in the West Georgia Regional Library System — including those in Douglas County — will be closed on Friday and Saturday.
  • Post offices: USPS offices will be open on Good Friday and Easter. UPS and FedEx will also be open on Good Friday, but both will be closed on Easter.
