What's Open, Closed For New Year's Eve, Day In Douglasville
The New Year's Eve and New Year's Day holidays will result in some closures and schedule changes as early as Thursday in Douglasville.
DOUGLASVILLE, GA — New Year's Eve may be different again this year due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. But something that hasn't changed is the closure of many services in Douglasville for the holiday.
While New Year's Day is a holiday for federal employees, some services are starting their closures on New Year's Eve since Jan. 1 is a Saturday. Here are the openings and closings to know on and around New Year's Eve and New Year's Day:
- Municipal offices for the city of Douglasville will close at 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, stay closed Friday and reopen Monday.
- Douglas County government offices and courts are closed Friday.
- West Georgia Regional Library System branches are closed Friday and Saturday. Libraries will reopen Monday at normal times.
- The Douglas County School System is on winter break until Jan. 5.
- Douglasville garbage pick up will not be affected by the New Year's holiday.
- This is a holiday for federal employees and most U.S. Postal Service post offices are closed Saturday, but mail will be delivered and most postal offices will be open Friday.
- All banks will be closed Saturday.
- Grocery store hours vary.
